About: USA Martial Arts offers a balanced martial arts training program by incorporating Cheezic Tang Soo Do forms (kata), kicks and hand technique, self-defense, oriental weapons, and conditioning into an all-encompassing program that will train your total mind and body. Our junior students are focused, more respectful and get better grades. Our teen and adult students are skilled, confident, and in the best shape of their lives.
With two fulltime studios, 14 Parks & Recreation Programs, 84 classes, over 300 students (ranging in age from 3 to 78), 21 Black Belt level instructors, 4 Master Belt instructors – there’s a place for you at USA Martial Arts! We offer classes in 6 different programs of martial arts or fitness, 4 types of weapons, and self defense/personal protection seminars. Classes are held 7 days a week, mornings, afternoons, and evenings. Over 50% of our students and instructors are female, and many of our students are family members spanning two generations (in one case, three generations!)
In our safe and supportive atmosphere, your child (and you!) can have the advantages of a structured martial arts curriculum, developed by eighth degree Master Black Belt Doug Wilke over the 38 years that he has practiced Tang So Doo, and the 14 years that he has run his studios full time. We believe that everyone, despite any physical limitations, can benefit from the self confidence and brain/body fitness that practicing martial arts will bring you.

List of Parks and Recreation Areas
Naugatuck offers many recreation facilities, including basketball courts, tennis courts, playgrounds, baseball, softball, football, soccer ball fields, ponds, fishing, and hiking trails.
Hop Brook Lake Recreation Area
Hop Brook Lake Recreation Area is located within the towns of Middlebury, Naugatuck and Waterbury, Connecticut. Its 536 acres provide excellent recreation opportunities and a chance to escape from the growing suburbia surrounding the park. Visitors can enjoy picnicking, hiking, mountain biking, canoeing/kayaking, swimming and fishing.
Stretching across four towns, this long and narrow state park trail combines enough remarkable history, geography and aesthetics to rate its 110 acres as one of the biggest and prettiest parks in Connecticut’s system. Originally designated as a trail for horses, for which it is still popular, Larkin’s ten miles now also serve walkers, joggers, bikers and hikers. This flat trail connects Middlebury, Naugatuck, Oxford and Southbury. At the eastern terminus of the trail there is parking for 6 to 8 cars at Whittemore Glen State Park along Route 63 in Naugatuck.
Naugatuck State Forest
Naugatuck State Forest covers almost 5,000 acres and is spread across Naugatuck, Beacon Falls, Oxford, Bethany, Hamden, Cheshire, Ansonia, and Seymour. It is organized into five Blocks, named West, East, Mt. Sanford, Quillinan Reservoir, and Great Hill.
The Forest originated with Harris Whittemore, an industrialist and member of the State Forest and Park Commission. In 1921, Mr. Whittemore began buying parcels of land in the Naugatuck Valley, intending to donate them to the State. Unfortunately, he did not live long enough to realize his dream, but after his death in 1928, his family continued to acquire land, and in 1931, almost 2,000 acres were donated in his memory.
The Forest is managed for sawtimber, firewood, wildlife habitat, and recreational activities such as hiking, hunting, mountain biking, bird-watching, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing.
