Laraine Weschler

Communication Specialist

"Communication leads to community, that is, to understanding, intimacy and mutual valuing." - Rollo May

Welcome!

I have the coolest job in the district because I get to experience all the awesome things that are going on in all our schools, every day. Whether it's tagging along as the Naugatuck Youth Leaders deliver cakes to staff members for kindness week, taking photos our our student athletes clearing the high jump, or videotaping the spring concert, I see our district at its best. And we have plenty to be proud of. Last year, our students won top prizes in culinary competitions, raised money for many charities, and were accepted into colleges like the University of Connecticut and the Fashion Institute of Technology.

If you see me at a school event, stop by and say hi! I'd love to hear your stories, and about upcoming events. I rely on parents, students and staff members to keep me up-to-date on everything going on.

I'm also in charge of the district's websites, so if there's something you'd like to see here, or you find something amiss, please email me.

You can learn about these things, and much more by following us on social media.

About Ms. Weschler Laraine hiking with dog, scenic overlook

I consider myself a life-long learner, so I thrive in a school environment. As a resident of Naugatuck, I have a vested interest in making sure our schools get the reputation they deserve. Before coming here, I spent 8 years as a journalist, working for the Republican-American newspaper. Now I get to help shape the news from the other side. Naugatuck Schools are diverse and filled with passionate people committed to making sure our students are prepared to step out into the world as responsible citizens, informed thinkers, researchers, innovators, problems solvers, and communicators.
