Travel advisory CT/ Testing Alternative 11-2020
Anyone traveling to a state identified by the State of Connecticut’s travel advisory must quarantine for fourteen days. This list changes frequently and can be accessed at Travel Advisory for Visitors to Connecticut. In addition, the CDC recommends against international travel to high-risk destinations, which includes most countries and can be accessed here: cdc.gov.
Anyone returning from a COVID-19 High-Risk destination must quarantine for 14 days before engaging in in-person classes at our school. Executive Order 9C provides the ability to shorten the quarantine period by providing a negative PCR Viral COVID-19 test following the steps below.
The traveler must:
- Have had a test for COVID-19 in the seventy-two hours prior to arrival in Connecticut or at any time following arrival in Connecticut, and
- The result of such COVID-19 test is negative, and
- Traveler submits written proof of such negative test result to the Commissioner or her designee, and
- The Traveler must submit the results to the School Nurse prior to returning to school.
The School Nurse and Nursing Supervisor will consult with the Naugatuck Valley Health District to evaluate the test results and determine any change to staff or student's quarantine status.
