PARENTS, GUARDIANS GIVE NAUGATUCK PUBLIC SCHOOLS
STELLAR MARKS ON SPRING 2017 FAMILY SURVEY

NAUGATUCK, Conn.; June 14, 2017 — The Naugatuck Board of Education announced the results of the Spring 2017 Family Survey, which is emailed to parents and guardians of Naugatuck students annually in March and asks for the schools to be rated in several categories to be used in the District’s strategic planning.

The results, based on 1,740 responses, were overwhelmingly positive with a slight overall improvement from last year, indicating that parents feel the District and the schools are good stewards of the public investment, particularly in the categories of collaboration and supportive relationships.

Results from the 2017 survey:

·       Collaboration, 99%

·       Communication, 91%

·       Family engagement, 95%

·       High expectations, 94%

·       Instruction, 93%

·       Leadership, 95%

·       School climate, 92%

·       Sense of belonging, 93%

·       Support, 96%

·       Supporting relationships, 97%

“At Naugatuck Public schools, our purpose it to ensure all students have access to high expectations and rigorous learning experiences every day. Families are our partners and their opinion is extremely important to us,” said Superintendent Sharon Locke. “This survey reinforces that we are on the right track and that parents are confident in our schools. Yet we are always looking to get better. We will continue to seek and use feedback in our strategic planning process.”
